Peripheral Wisdom

I never blog. But when I do, it's a mixture of Dos Equis and Old Spice.

About Me

My photo
flrichar
I'm an engineer with a fondness for networking. I've climbed the Cisco pyramid of CCNA (2003), CCNP (2005) and now working on a CCIE in Security (passed written exam in Mar 2009).
I like Linux and Open Source, as a fantastic set of enterprise tools. Every engineer should have them at their disposal, it's like the swiss-army knife for techno-geeks. Yea, you think the iphone is cute, give me a dozen linux VMs and watch what what happens. The iphone is gimmicky, in my mind, there's a difference.
Speaking of VMs, I think that's the last part of the tech trifecta-- Linux, Cisco (well networking in general) and Virtualization. I'm also not a fan of one particular hypervisor. I do have a lot of experience with VMWare, but I'm also very, very fond of VirtualBox, KVM (or Qemu) and Xen.
